5 things to get your whisky drinker!

5. Double Old Fashioned Glass with Built-In Cigar Rest

I am not a smoker; however, I do know some folks who love having a smokey whisky while having their favorite cigar.

So, when I was looking at whisky accessories for men on Amazon and ran across these Corkcicle Cigar Glasses I knew this would be a perfect gift if you have a friend or someone in the family who enjoys both a good whisky and a good cigar.

4. Crystal Whisky Decanter

Most of us that drink whisky already have a mix of glasses that we use; Glencairn, bourbon, or shot glasses. But, do you have a nice decanter to go with those glasses? Rather than pouring the whisky straight out of a plain old whisky bottle how about stepping it up a bit with an crystal decanter to show your friends that you take your whisky seriously?

Or, maybe you are a little adventurous. Do you have a favorite smokey whisky? Do you also have a fairly plain blended Scotch? Well, how about making your own blend of the two by pouring some of each into your decanter and let it set for a week or two? Wow! You’ve now made your own personal blend!!! How about that?!

Here is an inexpensive good quality decanter that will not break your bank account from Amazon.

Here is a picture of a decanter that I have picked up in my travels, let me know how yours looks!

3. Whiskey Globe Decanter Set

Do you have some good inexpensive Scotch, Bourbon, or plain old whiskey? Well, instead of pouring it out of that bottle that advertises it is an inexpensive (cheap) whisky how about using a beautiful decanter you would be proud of displaying on your bar or desk?

Here from Amazon is a Whiskey Decanter Globe Set with two Etched Globe Whiskey Glasses.

Your friends will be impressed just by the sight of it when they come up to your bar or sit down beside your desk. Nothing says class like a nice decanter set when sharing a glass of whisky with your friends.

2. Whiskey Stones

For those of you who are adamant about having your whiskey chilled, have you thought about having it chilled and not diluted? After all when you add ice it will change the flavor of the whisky as you go. And, just when you have it perfectly mixed you either need to add more whiskey or more ice.

Well, how about using some whiskey stones instead? Say what?!?! Yes, I said whiskey stones!

This will allow you to have your whiskey chilled and maintain the same state of aroma and taste throughout the time your are drinking it. And, since you are putting stones in the glass you will want to have good solid glasses to put your whiskey and stones together in.

Here is a perfect solution to add to your whisky bar: a whiskey stones gift set of eight, plus two crystal whiskey glasses found on Amazon.

With a set of two glasses and eight stones this will allow you to keep four stones in the freezer while using the other four stones. Or, you can surprise your friend by sharing a glass of your whiskey with the whisky stones instead of ice.

Here are some stones I got along the way on my whisky journey, let me know how yours are doing!

1. Glencairn Glasses

You will want to enjoy the full experience of drinking your dram of your favorite whisky. And, you will want to bring out as much flavor and aroma as you can when you try out new whiskies.

Sure, you could use any tulip shaped glass and come close to the same thing. But, when you are sitting there enjoying your Scotch or have invited a friend over because you want to share some of that fine 18 year old Scotch do you really want to give it to him in a wine glass?

That is why the first thing to have in your Scotch whisky bar is a set of four Glencairn Whisky Glasses. This will have you ready to share your love for whisky with your friends at a moment’s notice. This is my number one choice glass when I am relaxing and having a Scotch and also when trying out a new Scotch.

Don’t take my word for it! Here is an Amazon review from a satisfied bourbon drinker:

“I’ve just started drinking bourbon over a half year now. During these months, I’ve just used the standard tumbler glasses from Target. Then as I got more into the art of drinking whiskey, I found that one of the biggest factor in tasting is the glass that it is served in. I’ve seen numerous videos and images of this glass being used by whiskey enthusiasts. Skeptical at first, because I didn’t think a glass would make that much of a difference. But I decided to give it a try just to see. And I’ll tell you what, I will ALWAYS drink whiskey out from a Glencairn glass from now on. I was amazed at how much of a difference it made with my tasting experience.

As I brought the glass up to my nose, I found a fuller aroma of my bourbon as opposed to before. I was able to smell the combination of vanilla, cinnamon, and oak! Next, I tipped the glass to taste the bourbon. The flow of the bourbon from the glass to my lips was very gentle. The curvature of the glass allowed me to continue to smell the full aroma as the bourbon hits my lips. My first reaction was: “WOW”. This glass opens up the richness of the bourbon. With the combination of both smell and taste, it was truly an enhancement to my whiskey experience. Ever try plugging your nose while eat something flavorful? Well, it’s the same concept but opposite. The funnel from the glass brings the aroma into your nose as you taste the whiskey. With that in mind, the taste may be overwhelming to some. When this happens to me, I usually remedy this by adding a splash of water.

Overall, I am very happy with this product as it has changed my experience with tasting whiskey. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested. It will bring your tasting experience to another level.”

I hope this recommendation brings you plenty of nice drams in the future! Let me know how it goes in the comments below.
